This webinar introduces the fundamentals of the H/V (HVSR or Nakamura) method for passive seismic analysis. Starting from the concepts of resonance and microtremor vibrations, the course explains how H/V spectral features can be used to investigate seismic stratigraphy and site response. Main applications, interpretation criteria and methodological limitations are also discussed through practical examples.

This webinar focuses on the interpretation and visualization of large microtremor datasets through contouring techniques and spatial analysis. Participants will learn how to present H/V data in a concise yet informative way for applications such as bedrock mapping, landslide investigation, rock glacier analysis and sediment transition mapping. Practical examples will be carried out using the new MoHo software HeeVee.
